LVGP 2023 TICKET SETTLEMENT

The United States District Court for the District of Nevada

Jack Diep, et. al. v. Liberty Media Corporation, et. al

No. 2:23-cv-02124-GMN-NJK

PERSONS OR ENTITIES THAT PURCHASED OR POSSESSED A TICKET TO THE
2023 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX AND ATTEMPTED TO ATTEND THE FP2 FREE PRACTICE SESSION
SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 16, 2023 MAY BE ENTITLED TO A CASH PAYMENT FROM A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT.

A Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit between Defendants Liberty Media Corporation and Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. (collectively, “Defendants”) and persons or entities who alleged that they, and the Settlement Class, are entitled to partial refunds of the ticket price for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix because Defendants had to delay the FP2 Free Practice Session and subsequently revoked the Settlement Class’s admission without cause before the FP2 Free Practice Session began. The case is Jack Diep, et. al. v. Liberty Media Corporation, et. al., Case No. 2:23-cv-02124-GMN-NJK, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada (the “Lawsuit”). The proposed Settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing by Defendants. Defendants deny all allegations of wrongdoing and disclaim all liability regarding all claims in the Lawsuit

If approved by the Court, Defendants will establish a Settlement Fund of $3,047,986. After paying notice and administration expenses, approved Class Counsel’s attorney fees and costs, and a Service Award to the named Plaintiffs, what remains of the $3,047,986 million will be used to pay Cash Awards to Class Members.

Receiving a Payment

You do not need to submit a claim form if you purchased your ticket directly from Defendants or purchased your ticket on Ticketmaster (primary or secondary markets). If you are one such Class Members, you will automatically receive your Cash Award via email to your last known email address.
If you possessed a ticket that you received from someone else (meaning you did not purchase it directly from Defendants or on Ticketmaster), then you do need to submit a claim form by August 27, 2026. You can complete a Claim Form by going to the "File a Claim" Page of this website and provide documentation supporting your claim for a Cash Award. If the Claim Form is approved, you will receive the Cash Award for that ticket, not the Class Member who originally purchased it.

Other Options

You may exclude yourself from the Settlement Class by sending a letter to the Settlement Administrator no later than June 28, 2026. If you exclude yourself, you cannot get a Cash Award, but you keep any rights you may have to sue the Defendants over the legal issues in the Lawsuit.
If you do not exclude yourself, you may object to the Settlement if you choose to do so. You and/or your lawyer have the right to appear before the Court and/or object to the proposed settlement. Your written objection must be filed with the Court no later than June 28, 2026. Specific instructions about how to object to or exclude yourself from the Settlement are detailed in the Long Form Notice available on the “File a Claim” and “Court Documents” Pages of this website.

Final Approval Hearing

The Court will hold the Final Approval Hearing on November 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. PT, at the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, 333 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, NV 89101, Courtroom 7D. The Court will determine the fairness of the Settlement. And will also hear any proper objections related to the Settlement, consider any requests for an award of Class Counsel’s attorneys’ fees (not to exceed 30% of the total Settlement Fund), expenses, and any Service Award for the Plaintiffs (not to exceed $2,500 each) that may be sought by Class Counsel.
